Newton, of Chapman, has returned to Camp Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo., after a visit with his parents. Since entering the service, Pvt. Newton has been stationed at three camps in California and took desert training in Arizona. Originally in the infantry, he has recently been transferred to the field artillery. Some of his recent activities included ski training on Colorado mountain sides. While at home he visited in Greenville, where he has many friends and relatives. While attending Georgiana High School, he was a member of the baseball team. |
