ALABAMA MORTALITY SCHEDULE 1860 compiled by Marilyn Davis Barefield. I.S.B.N. #0-89308-603-7. List of everyone who died from June 1859 to June 1860. Information given was age, sex, color, whether free person or a slave, place of birth, occupation, month of death, cause of death, and number of days sick.

BUTLER COUNTY, ALABAMA OBITUARIES Marilyn Davis Barefield. All Probate records in Butler Co. were destroyed in a fire in 1853. Compilation of genealogical & historical data to help repl ace records destroyed in a fire in 1897. Three newspapers have been abstracted, Register of Death from 1886 to 1897 provide name of deceased, and information about the deceased, 1850 Mortality Schedule, Civil War Pensioners, and a few wills and deeds are also included. 229 pages, full name index. OLD ST.STEPHENS LAND OFFICE RECORDS Marilyn Davis Hahn -I.S.B.N. #0-89308-332-1. Contains records from six of the ledgers in the St. Stephens Land Office in what is now southwest Alabama and southern Mississippi beginning in 1805. Two ledgers contain military bounty land warrants. Two series of maps showing development of Alabama counties and the other the territory controlled by the Land Offices of Alabama. Approx. 6,300 early settlers are listed. 196 pages, full name index. cloth cover.

OLD SPARTA & ELBA LAND OFFICE RECORDS Marilyn Davis Hahn. I.S.B .N. #0-89308-339-9. Land Office opened in Sparta in 1822 in the territory taken from the Cahaba Land Office and later transferred to Elba in 1854. All of the land sold out of these offices was located in the counties of Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Conecuh, Dale, Escambia, Geneva, Henry, Houston & Pike. Nearly 8,000 early settlers are listed. 202 pages, full name index. Cloth cover.

OLD TUSKALOOSA LAND OFFICE RECORDS Marilyn Davis Barefield. I.S.B.N.# 0-89308-530-8. Tuskaloosa Land Office was created 1820 and controlled the sale of land in Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, St. Clair, Bibb, Pickens, Sumter, Greene, Perry, Hale, Shelby, Fayette, and Walker counties in Alabama, and the eastern portion of Monroe County, Mississippi. About 8,800 settlers from 1821-1855 are enumerated. Also included Military Bounty Warrants.
